One of the most basic skills in effective negotiation is learning how to control your emotions. The emotion of neediness is the number-one deal killer, and it wears many faces. If one wants badly to win the negotiation and seal the deal, neediness might show itself as name-dropping and overconfidence, or extreme nervousness and rushing, or giving up one's advantage by saying yes when "no" would have been better.
